Waylyn Tahuri-Whaipakanga is Chief Executive Officer of Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga.

With nearly thirty years' experience in Health and Social Services, Waylyn has worked in leadership roles for two decades, including with the district health board, NGO’s and iwi. She continues to sit on and lead numerous boards, including previous chair of Hōhepa Hawke’s Bay, trustee of the Hōhepa National Trust Board and after 8 years continues to be a trustee of Hōhepa Hawkes Bay, chair of Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Housing LP, Director of Waingākau Housing Development Ltd and a trustee of Rangiahua Marae.

Also, a talented business owner, Waylyn has won a number of awards and accolades, including the Hawke’s Bay’s Leader of the Year in 2023, for her role at Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga.
