Ngāti Porou
George Reedy is the chief executive of Te Rūnanganui o Ngāti Porou, lead partner for the Horouta Whānau Ora collective. George has held executive roles for several IT companies and previously co-owned Actrix, now part of Voyager ISP. He was the CEO of Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga from 2014 to 2021 (the mandated political leader of Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga), the director of the Ngāti Pāhauwera Development Company (the investment arm for a confederation of hapū with historical interests in northern Hawke’s Bay), and the chair of Pēke Waihanga, the Artificial Limb Service.
This year he was honoured as a Fellow of CA ANZ. George’s journey as a Chartered Accountant began on 15 December 2014, when he was admitted as a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. Over the past decade, he has exemplified the highest standards of professional excellence, integrity, and dedication. On behalf of Te Rūnanganui o Ngāti Porou, George was also instrumental in establishing a housing development, called Te Mano o Hamo, in partnership with Te Tūapapa Kura Kāinga – the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
George is committed to ensure the road to wellbeing, wisdom, and wealth for his whānaunga is clearly marked for the next 100 years or more.
